My wife and I were there for years in countries from north, to west, to east, and to southern Africa, and it was challenging and quite an eye-opener. The real story is not being told sufficiently, sadly. We came back for a few reasons. Wanted to be a “voice for the voiceless”, but organized religion is not interested and apparently does not care, and we have found little support or even those who care about Africa. Revealingly, it also coincided with the lack of prayer we found in place after place here within the 501c3 congregations. So happy we found prayer warriors online, when least expected it. The real church is arising.
Africa has tremendous potential. It is ripe. Hearing her account makes me miss being there, and am eager to return — but this time to make a bigger impact, with a team of people, now that we have seen what is going on and what is needed. There are tremendous needs for women’s and youth ministries, as well as educational tours to open the eyes of the people. It is not rocket science; it takes a heart that cares. paul
