Never underestimate God and His mighty power. There is no way you can overestimate God. When Israel faced the barrier of the Red Sea in front of them, while Pharaoh’s Army pursued them, they were trapped. There was no possible retreat, no way forward, and they seemed to be walled in on both sides with impossible rough terrain on one side, and garrisons on the other. Trapped in their circumstances. They were terrified.
God parted the Red Sea, and they walked straight forward on dry ground. However, the Egyptians followed hard after them. The interesting thing is that what was a way of escape for God’s people became a trap to their enemies. The enemies were walled in on both sides, and they could not go to the left or the right. Those walls of water came tumbling down upon them, completely destroying their weapons, horses, chariots, and themselves.
The enemy may think he has you right where he wants you. Trapped, with no possible way to go. God told Moses they were to stand still and see His salvation. That enemy that they feared, that oppressors that brutally kept them in bondage, they would see no more.
Exodus 14: 13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
We are to stand firm, in faith in God and His infallible Word. Yes, when you have done everything that you can do, just stand! Jesus is that solid rock, that firm foundation, as the lyrics of an old Hymn declares, “On Christ the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand.” Stand, as you wait on God to direct you. He will make a way for you where there is no way. He is God!
The Red Sea is about to part for you, making a way for you where there was no way. The pursuing enemy will not reach you, will not touch you, and will not even see the tsunami of justice and judgment by the hand of the Lord coming until it is too late. Yes, God will make a way of escape for you, but there will be no way of escaping the judgment and justice of God that is surely coming to your enemies, that are God’s enemies. So, stand still and see His Salvation. You will go straight forward in the path He makes for you, and that is just the beginning. Your enemy that held you in bondage, abused you, tormented you, was a cruel task master, is pursuing you to destroy you, you will see no more.
Never underestimate God, for He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and your ever-present help in time of trouble. You will not be the victim of the assailant, but the victor in Jesus, your Savior forever. Hallelujah! Amen. So be it, Lord!
